CEO Letter

During the autumn season, many of us in the northern regions of the country delight in the vibrant colors of changing leaves, while many Baptist congregations gather for a cherished tradition: revival services. As churches enter this season of spiritual renewal, recommitting themselves to God's calling and purpose, it is especially fitting that we observe Clergy Appreciation Month.

October is also Cybersecurity Awareness Month, reminding us that faithful stewardship extends beyond our ministries and finances to the digital spaces we navigate every day. With that in mind, this edition of Tomorrow offers valuable insights designed to support clergy financial wellness, vocational growth, fraud prevention, and online privacy.

In part one of our two-part series, "AI Privacy and Faithful Church Stewardship," we explore common misconceptions about artificial intelligence and their potential impact on churches and faith-based organizations. In recognition of Clergy Appreciation Month, four clergy members serving on the MMBB staff share reflections about their callings and professional journeys in "Celebrating Clergy Appreciation Month Through Stories of Service at MMBB."

"What You Need to Know About MMBB's Target Date Funds" highlights investment solutions that can support clergy at every stage of their financial journey, from those newly entering ministry to seasoned servants of faith. Meanwhile, "How Working with a Coach Can Support Clergy Through Life’s Transitions" explores how vocational coaching can strengthen ministry effectiveness and help clergy navigate through various seasons of life with confidence. Finally, our Financial Fact, "Reduce the Risk of Check Washing Fraud" offers practical guidance for protecting against one of today's fastest-growing forms of financial fraud.

In conclusion, I leave you with these words from scripture:

"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be servant of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve."

Mark 10:43-45 (NIV)

In a world that often measures success by power and prestige, Jesus offers a different vision of achievement. True leadership begins with humility and finds its fullest expression in service to others. Pastors and clergy embody this calling every day as they offer spiritual guidance to their congregations and communities and put others before themselves.

This October, let us pause to express our heartfelt gratitude to our servant leaders for their faithfulness, sacrifices, and selfless commitment to God's people. MMBB is privileged to support your financial wellbeing so you can remain focused on what matters most: serving God and your church’s mission.

In Christ,

Rev. Dr. Perry J. Hopper
