In the Spring, cherry blossoms burst into bloom, beautifully symbolizing the season of renewal and reawakening. Alongside nature’s fresh start, many of us embrace the tradition of Spring cleaning—a practice with deep roots in the Judeo-Christian faith. While this often involves washing curtains and sweeping behind the refrigerator, it’s also an ideal time to reflect inward and ensure your financial house is in order. With that in mind, this issue of Tomorrow offers practical guidance to help you organize, refresh, and be more intentional about your financial life.
First, we cover debt management, and the costs associated with ministry and home improvement. This edition provides tips on tackling student loans and other debt in the article “Smart Strategies to Reduce Student Loans and Slash Debt.” In “Best Practices for Managing Reimbursement Accounts and Allowances,” we share ways to track your reimbursable expenses effectively. The article “Not All Home Improvements Are Equal,” explores which renovations are most likely to increase the value of your home.
What better way to pay it forward than to share the knowledge of stewardship you’ve acquired with your faith community? Our penultimate article, “Teaching Financial Literacy to Congregations,” sheds light on how pastors can integrate financial education into ministry. Finally, “Financial Fact: Important Deadlines and Changes on the Horizon for Americans” details updates on Social Security and student loans.”
As we enjoy this season of restoration and revival, I leave you with this scripture: “For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” – Song of Solomon 2:11-12 (NIV). Now that Spring has arrived, the warmer weather invites us to spend more time outside and revel in nature's bounty. I encourage you to set aside time in your busy schedules to enjoy the beauty God has created and bask in the ambiance of the outdoors. May you be refreshed as you partake in the spiritual nourishment and renewal that our faith brings.
In Christ,
