As we welcome June, we're reminded that preparation isn’t just tied to a season—it’s a mindset that guides how we steward our resources and live out our purpose. In this month’s edition of Tomorrow, you’ll find timely insights to help strengthen your financial foundation and approach life’s decisions with clarity and confidence. Whether you're planning for retirement, safeguarding your home, or evaluating the value of a warranty, each article is designed to equip you with practical knowledge that empowers wise choices today—and creates lasting impact for the future.
We begin with a deeper look at Social Security in “Social Security: Beyond Retirement Benefits.” While many people think of Social Security solely as a retirement benefit, our article explores the broader protections it offers—disability, survivor, and spousal benefits.
Moving to more immediate topics, we’re pleased to share a preview of MMBB events at the 2025 ABCUSA Biennial Mission Summit in “Join MMBB’s Exciting Events at the 2025 ABCUSA Biennial Mission Summit.” On the practical side, as housing markets shift, so do the tactics of fraudsters. Our article, “Protecting Yourself from Real Estate Scams,” outlines red flags to watch for and steps you can take to protect your finances and your peace of mind.
In “Not All Home Improvements Are Equal, Part 2,” we continue our series on home renovations with guidance on which projects offer the best return on investment—and which ones might be better left for later. Finally, we tackle a question many of us face at the checkout counter in, “Are Extended Warranties Worth It?” From appliances to vehicles, we help you consider the pros and cons of extended warranties so you can make more informed decisions.
As we look ahead to summer, I contemplate the theme of MMBB’s Biennial Mission Summit events, “Self-Care: Seeking the Path to Wholeness.” With that in mind, I invite you to reflect on the words of the psalmist: “You let me rest in fields of green grass. You lead me to streams of peaceful water.” Psalm 23:2–3a, CEV) This verse reminds us that self-care is not selfish—it is sacred. Amid our responsibilities and service, God calls us to rest, to be restored, and to remember that our worth is not measured by our output, but by our identity in God. May this season be one where you give yourself permission to pause, to breathe, and to seek wholeness—not just for the work ahead, but for the life you are called to live fully.
In Christ,
Louis P. Barbarin
