Amanda Tyler is the Executive Director of Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, (BJC) where she leads efforts to defend faith freedom for all by championing the historic Baptist principle of religious liberty. She is the lead organizer of the Christians Against Christian Nationalism campaign and co-host of BJC’s Respecting Religion podcast.
An advocate, author, and legal expert, Tyler is the author of How to End Christian Nationalism (Broadleaf Books, 2024). Her constitutional analysis and public witness have been featured by The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, and more. In 2022, Religion News Service named her one of the year’s “rising stars in religion.”
A member of the Texas and U.S. Supreme Court Bars, Tyler has testified before Congress on threats posed by Christian nationalism and has held roles in private practice, on Capitol Hill, and in the federal judiciary. She holds a J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law and a magna cum laude degree in foreign service from Georgetown University.
