Medicare Eligibility
You may become eligible for Medicare when you reach age 65, or because you have been eligible for Social Security disability benefits for two years.
Here are some steps you may take:
- You will receive information from Medicare three months before you turn age 65. For other qualifying events, contact Medicare at least three months before you will become eligible for Medicare benefits.
- If you are a PremierHealth plan member:
- and you continue to be actively employed when you reach age 65, you will remain in PremierHealth until you retire; or
- and you have retired and begun your monthly MMBB annuity, your coverage will switch to The Hartford Senior Medical Insurance Plan, which coordinates with Medicare, when you reach age 65.
