NEW YORK, NY, October 21, 2011 – The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board (“MMBB”) has released its 2012 Guide for Church-Related Employers. The Employer Guide can assist churches and related organizations in setting clergy compensation, paying taxes and benefits, and establishing a pastoral budget.
“The Employer Guide is a critical resource for churches and other faith-based organizations, as it covers everything from how to fill out your church’s W-2 form to calculating the housing allowance and taxes for ordained staff,” explained Sumner M. Grant, MMBB’s executive director. “Our members appreciate the practical advice on church-staff relations, budgets and fair compensation.”
The Employer Guide has now been combined with a related MMBB publication, The Laborer Deserves to Be Paid, to provide one comprehensive resource for all faith-based employers. The publication is free to all MMBB employers and available in the Download Documents & Resources section.
